Gender Check FAQ

WHY ARE YOUR GENDER CHECKS SO CHEAP?

In 2009, we were the first 3D ultrasound studio in the nation to bring the price of our gender checks down to $39 so that most pregnant women could afford to get one (elsewhere, they were $89 to $99). We have raised our price over the years to $59 since then. We have been able to bring this wonderful experience to more pregnant women and their families as a result.

WHAT IS YOUR GENDER CHECK GUARANTEE?

If we are unable to determine the gender of your baby, you can come back for free until we do. This is our Gender Check Guarantee. See our Gender Check Guarantee page for more information.

HOW EARLY CAN I CHECK THE GENDER?

At First Peek Ultrasound, we have been at the forefront of checking gender checks as early as 14 weeks

If you are traveling from far or if it is difficult for you to make more than one visit to our ultrasound studio, then we recommend that you wait until you are at least 15 weeks before getting our Gender Check 3D ultrasound package.

If you weigh over 300 pounds or having twins, we recommend that you wait until you are at least 17 weeks before getting our Gender Check 3D ultrasound package. However, if you can't wait to find out if you're having a boy or a girl, you are still welcome to come in as early as 14 weeks.

WHAT IF I AM LESS THAN 14 WEEKS?

If you are less than 14 weeks, you can come in for the Early Peek Package, from 12 weeks to 13 weeks 6 days. Although we can not guarantee the gender at this early stage, we will do our best and also let you come back for free after 14 weeks to recheck. This way, we can give you a final determination which we can guarantee.

HOW ACCURATE IS YOUR GENDER CHECK?

In the spirit of transparency in the accuracy of our gender checks, we plan on publicly displaying our gender check accuracy rate here on our website.  We hope that other 3D ultrasound facilities across the United States follow our example.

The following includes all customers receiving Gender Check packages of any gestational age and all customers receiving any other package at or below 17 weeks where the gender was also determined, since January 1, 2010, and is current up to April 30, 2016, a time span which includes over 19,000 gender checks.
